Helicobacter Pylori Infection, Causes, Signs and Symptoms, Diagnosis and Treatment.
JohnLucky888

It started chronic sinus and constipation and then food poison . Stomach kept making insane noises without stopping one night, and then my upper back starts to hurt???

When I drank the breathe test fluids for h pylori breathe test, my upper back hurt really bad again. When it’s slow, it feels like it’s slowly pulsing/vibrating or air or something is blowing at it.

No doctors know, it’s too weird.

Before my abdominal hurts after eating and having a bowel movement, now my upper left back hurts?

Other parts of body hurt too but not as bad. It keeps changing.

How Is H Pylori Diagnosed

Your healthcare provider will look at your past health and give you a physical exam. He or she may also use other tests, including:

  • Blood tests. These check for infection-fighting cells that mean you have the bacteria.

  • Stool culture. This looks for any abnormal bacteria in your digestive tract that may cause diarrhea and other problems. A small stool sample is collected and sent to a lab. In 2 or 3 days, the test will show if you have any abnormal bacteria.

  • Breath tests. These can check if there is any carbon after you swallow a urea pill that has carbon molecules. If carbon is found that means that H. pylori has made the enzyme urease. This enzyme makes your stomach acids less acidic . It weakens your stomachs mucous lining.

  • Upper endoscopy, also called EGD . This test looks at the lining of your food pipe , stomach, and duodenum . It uses a thin, lighted tube or endoscope. The tube has a camera at one end. The tube is put into your mouth and throat. Then it goes down into your esophagus, stomach, and duodenum. Your healthcare provider can see the inside of these organs. A small tissue sample is taken if needed. The tissue sample can show if you have the enzyme urease. It can also check the bacteria that is there.

Treatment For H Pylori

If you have ulcers caused by H. pylori, youâll need treatment to kill the germs, heal your stomach lining, and keep the sores from coming back. It usually takes 1 to 2 weeks of treatment to get better.

Your doctor will probably tell you to take a few different types of drugs. The options include:

Your treatment could mean youâll take 14 or more pills per day for a few weeks, which seems like a lot of medicine. But itâs really important to take everything that your doctor prescribes and to follow their instructions. If you donât take antibiotics the right way, bacteria in your body can become resistant to them, which makes infections harder to treat. If your medications bother you, talk to your doctor about your treatment options and how you can handle side effects.

Antibiotic Resistance To H Pylori

Doctors can treat most H. pylori infections successfully treated with antibiotics.

However, research suggests that some H. pylori infections are becoming resistant to certain antibiotics. This means H. pylori is able to survive antibiotic treatment, and the patient may need another drug to kill the bacteria.

A 2015 review found some patients in the United States had H. pylori infections that were resistant to two different antibiotics. A 2014 review found a high number of resistant H. pylori bacteria in Latin American countries.

Antibiotic resistance is a growing problem across the globe. The CDC says that more than

Do You Have Any of These Symptoms

If you have symptoms of a digestive condition, you may need to get tested for H. pylori. There are several ways to diagnose an H. pylori infection, including:

  • Blood test: A healthcare professional may draw a sample of blood from a persons arm or hand. The blood sample can then be sent to a laboratory to check for antibodies to H. pylori.
  • Stool test: For this test, youll use a container from a healthcare professional to collect a sample of your feces. It can then be sent to a lab for either a stool antigen test or a stool culture test.
  • Breath test: A urea breath test can check for abnormal carbon dioxide levels, which can be a sign of an H. pylori infection. The test involves breathing into a collection bag twice. In between providing breath samples, youll consume a pill or liquid with a harmless radioactive material. A healthcare professional can then compare the two samples to see if you may have H. pylori.

A healthcare professional may recommend getting an endoscopy if the results of the other tests are inconclusive. It allows a healthcare professional to look at your esophagus, stomach lining, and a portion of your small intestine.

During the procedure, a healthcare professional will insert a long, thin tube called an endoscope into your mouth and down into your stomach and duodenum.

An attached camera will send back images on a monitor for a healthcare professional to see. The test may also involve removing a small tissue sample to be analyzed after the procedure.

How H Pylori Makes You Sick

For decades, doctors thought people got ulcers from stress, spicy foods, smoking, or other lifestyle habits. But when scientists discovered H. pylori in 1982, they found that the germs were the cause of most stomach ulcers.

After H. pylori enters your body, it attacks the lining of your stomach, which usually protects you from the acid your body uses to digest food. Once the bacteria have done enough damage, acid can get through the lining, which leads to ulcers. These may bleed, cause infections, or keep food from moving through your digestive tract.

You can get H. pylori from food, water, or utensils. Itâs more common in countries or communities that lack clean water or good sewage systems. You can also pick up the bacteria through contact with the saliva or other body fluids of infected people.

Many people get H. pylori during childhood, but adults can get it, too. The germs live in the body for years before symptoms start, but most people who have it will never get ulcers. Doctors arenât sure why only some people get ulcers after an infection.

What Is H Pylori Infection

Helicobacter pylori

Helicobacter pylori is a bacteria that is commonly present in the stomach lining and results in stomach ulcers. This infection is contagious and it spreads from one person to another due to poor maintenance of personal hygiene. It spreads through saliva and fecal contamination of food and water. Two researchers from Australia discovered in 1982 that this infection causes peptic ulcer disease.

This infection usually affects children, and more than half of the population might have this infection without realizing it. This is because it does not result in any signs or symptoms. Symptoms develop only when the infection results in a peptic ulcer. H.pylori infection can be effectively treated with the help of antibiotics.
