What Is The Dosage Of Acetaminophen
The usual adult dosage of acetaminophen is two 500mg tablets every 6 hours a maximum daily dose of 8 tablets a day . Children and adults weighing less than 50kg will need a lower dosage.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends people talk to their doctors about taking over-the-counter medicines like ibuprofen, acetaminophen, aspirin, or antihistamines, for any pain and discomfort after getting vaccinated.
According to the CDC, Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson COVID boosters are the same dosage as the first round of shots. Moderna, however, is half the dose of the vaccine used in the initial series.
The CDC does not recommend, however, that people take such over-the-counter medications or antihistamines to prevent side effects prior to receiving the coronavirus vaccine or booster shot.
Health officials noted that it is not known how those medications might affect the efficacy of the vaccine. For people who take medications for underlying medical conditions, the CDC recommends to continue taking.

Are Painkillers Effective For Back Pain
A recent study suggests that popular painkillers, such as aspirin and ibuprofen, are generally useless when it comes to relieving back pain and in many cases, they can cause more harm than good, according to the review published in the Annals of the Rheumatic Diseases Journal.
The study revealed that one in six patients treated with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs achieved any significant reduction in pain. Furthermore, those taking the pills were 2.5 times more likely to suffer from gastrointestinal problems, such as stomach ulcers and bleeding.
Consultant Spinal Surgeon, Mr Bob Chatterjee, and advisor to the NHS Choices website on the treatment of back pain says, The biggest problem in addressing this question, is what do we mean by back pain? For example, back pain can be caused by a muscle strain, a slipped disc, wear and tear malalignment of the spine, trauma, cancer, arthritis just to name a few.
Mr Chatterjee also based at Highgate Private Hospital and Harley Street Spine continues, Interestingly, the National Institute for Clinical Excellence has recently updated its guidelines at the end of last year, regarding the treatment of low back pain, and I think it reflects some of what this study is saying.

Tylenol has historically been used for back pain. However, Tylenol has very limited benefit in patients with back pain. According to one study:
- Tylenoldoes not produce better outcomes than placebo for people with acute low back pain, and it is uncertain if it has any effect on chronic low back pain.
Tylenol is thus no longer recommended as a first-line treatment for low back pain. It may be worth a try if you cannot take ibuprofen or naproxen due to medical reasons. The dose you can try is this:

So which is better for back pain: Acetaminophen or an NSAID ?
As you can see from this article, NSAIDs such as ibuprofen or naproxen are more effective than acetaminophen for low back pain. This is in part due to the fact that NSAIDs can reduce inflammation in your lower back, whereas Tylenol does not.
However, if you have medical reasons that put you at risk of side effects with NSAIDs , you should try Tylenol instead. Tylenol is generally safe. Do not take Tylenol with alcohol and avoid it if you have liver disease.
