I have to be honest here. In Chile, I buy Truasinol, those are tablets with the main component of mefenamic acid. This is a medicine my doctor made me buy to help me with the pain. And while they are not magical, they help a lot. Also, have in mind that each pill has 500 mg of mefenamic acid. Which is more than regular pain relief tablets have. Since they are stronger, they help faster.
What I would normally do is to take two tablets with preferably chamomile tea. You can call that my magic potion. I have to mention that my doctor said is to better take one tablet, and only to take two if the pain is too bad. Well, the pain is always bad, so I just go ahead and take two to avoid more suffering.

When many women find out theyre expecting a baby, the joy is something tremendous to behold. The fear of losing that baby, however, is another beast entirely.

While Id spoken to my doctor about them and was calmed by their lack of concern, every time I experienced a pain that was worse or different from the others, the panic would settle back into my mind.

Here were some of the options I landed on:
- I began taking walks for extra exercise and to keep my body moving.
- I reduced the number of extra responsibilities I had to allow more time for lounging around and relaxing.
- I read all of the important What to Expect pregnancy books, so I would have a better grasp of what was going on with my body.
- I started doing daily meditations and gentle pregnancy yoga.
Tips To Prevent Cramps
Kale suggests staying hydrated throughout the day, eating foods rich in magnesium and potassium , wearing warm socks at night if you have leg cramps, and keeping your muscles strong and flexible with regular exercises.
Quinine tablets used to be recommended, but aren’t anymore unless cramps are disabling. “They can have some bad side effects and interactions with other medications,” Kale says.
And one more point: “Cramps are extremely painful, but they’re not a sign of serious illness,” says Kale. “Stretch the muscle and resume your activity once the cramp goes away.”

What Is A Back Spasm
A back spasm is a sudden and involuntary contraction, or uncontrollable tightening, of a muscle in response to , overuse, weakness, or related to injury or a disorder. Back spasms often occur near the spinal cord or near the nerve roots that lead in and out of the spinal cord. This can put pressure on one of these sensitive nerves, causing quite severe pain.
It is common for to occur when you are exerting a lot of energy or are straining, such as while performing heavy lifting, working out, or engaging in a strenuous sports activity. You are especially prone to muscle spasms if you are doing any of these activities when you have not hydrated yourself sufficiently first or if your stores of potassium or calcium are low.

What Causes Degenerative Discs And Herniated Discs
Why is the lower back a target area for pain? “Generally speaking, the lower back is subject to a lot of mechanical stress and strain,â says Gunnar Andersson, MD, PhD, professor and chairman emeritus of the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. âThe reason is the weight of the upper body, which always puts loads on the lower back.”
Supporting all that upper body weight is the spine, which is made up of more than 30 small bones called vertebrae stacked one on top of the other. A spongy piece of cartilage, called a disc, sits between each vertebra. It acts as a shock absorber, preventing the bony vertebrae from grinding against one another.
With age, these cushioning discs gradually wear away and shrink, a condition known as degenerative disc disease. Discs can also tear or become injured. Sometimes the weakening of a disc can put pressure on its jelly-like center. Wisneski describes this process as similar to a bubble forming on your car’s tire.
“You hit a bump in the road, then all of a sudden that tire goes pop,” he says. In the case of your back, that pressure can lead to a herniated disc , in which the center of the disc bulges.
A herniated disc in the lower back can put pressure on the nerve that extends down the spinal column. This commonly causes pain to radiate to the buttocks and all the way down the leg. This condition is called sciatica.
